Dr. Widerborg
Dr. Widerborg was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She attended medical school at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine. Upon graduation in 1982, she completed a general surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center. She then moved to California for a trauma surgery fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine in Fresno. She joined the staff, at the Level 1 Trauma Center, as an assistant professor of surgery and was there for seven years. While there, she ran the Valley Medical Center Breast Clinic, was co-director of the UCSF/Fresno Surgery Residency, and was a member of the Central California Faculty Medical Group. Dr. Widerborg returned in 1995 and was happy to be back in the Midwest. She was in a general surgery group for 14 years before opening her own practice in 2009. Now as a member of Integrated Surgical Specialists, Dr. Widerborg sees patients with a variety of general surgery problems. In addition, she focuses on the in depth and multi-disciplinary approach to breast health and disease.
Dr. Widerborg is one of the original founders of the McLean County Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She is a member of the Breast Leadership Committee of the Community Cancer Center and a regular attendee at Breast Cancer Conference. She has been awarded the Mastery of Breast Surgery Certificate from the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Presently, Dr. Widerborg serves as President of the Board of the McLean County Child Protection Network and the Child Advocacy Center. She also serves on the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Surgical Society.

Dr. Widerborg attends Eastview Christian Church. She prays daily for the Lord to guide her to head, heart, and hands in her practice of surgery.
